Our recent underfloor heating project in Knutsford involved the installation of a comprehensive underfloor heating system within a residential property. Initially, the scope of work was limited to the extension, but as the project progressed, the client recognised the immense benefits of underfloor heating and decided to expand the installation to enhance the entire ground floor area.

The Challenge:
The client's primary goal was to create a warm and comfortable living environment on the ground floor of their home. However, achieving this required a well-thought-out plan and the expertise to seamlessly integrate the underfloor heating system.
Our Solution:
Electrical System to Ground Floor:
We began by carefully assessing the existing electrical infrastructure to ensure a safe and efficient underfloor heating system. The electrical system was expertly configured to provide power to the heating elements throughout the ground floor.
Thermal Insulation and UFH Anti-Fracture Matting:
To optimize energy efficiency and heat distribution, we installed thermal insulation boards. These boards create a thermal barrier, preventing heat loss and ensuring that warmth is directed upward into the living spaces. Furthermore, UFH anti-fracture matting was meticulously laid to provide a stable foundation for the heating cables.
Encapsulation with Screed: The critical step in this underfloor heating project was the encapsulation of the system. A layer of screed was expertly applied, ensuring that the entire underfloor heating system was effectively covered. This layer of screed acts as a thermal mass, retaining heat and radiating it evenly into the rooms, offering unparalleled comfort and energy efficiency.
